The Bianconeri’s upcoming Champions League last 16 opponents Borussia Dortmund will be aiming to sign off a positive week on a winning note when they host Mainz at the Westfalenstadion this evening.
After guiding his side off the bottom of the table with last weekend’s away win over fellow strugglers Freiburg, Jurgen Klopp was also able to celebrate Marco Reus’ decision to commit himself to the club for the next four years after the attacking midfielder penned a contract extension until 2019.
The feel good factor could continue with another crucial three points against Klopp’s former club Mainz this evening, although the hosts will be wary of a side who have lost just three times on their travels this season – a record bettered only by Bayern Munich.
