Giorgio Chiellini spent two days in the Emirates last week, which were definitely two unforgettable days that those present will hardly forget, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi hosting the Juventus legend who delivered a special presentation among his array of activities in the region.
7 MARCH: DUBAI
From 31 May to 2 June, Dubai will host a special event: for the first time, outside the borders of Europe, a Juventus Academy coaches' workshop will be organised, in collaboration with the local Sport Council.
It was thus a unique opportunity for UAE coaches to learn about and deepen their knowledge of the Juventus Academy methodology, through various topics, including technical knowledge, performance and sports psychology.
The workshop was presented by Giorgio himself: on 7 March, he first visited the offices of Juventus Partner FFG Sports Management LLC, then the Al Nasr Sports Club where he met the President and CEO of the historic local first division club that will host the workshop, and then moved on to the Dubai Sport Council in the presence of the General Secretary and Senior Football Companies Specialist, to promote the workshop and consolidate the collaboration between our Academy and the Dubai Sport Council. That afternoon ‘Chiello’ also paid a visit to two sports facilities, Mirdif and JSS, greeting the local children and their families, with 1000 players and 20 coaches from Dubai and Sharjah present .
The Juventus Academy Dubai, established in 2015, is a very important academy, nominated among the Best Football Academies - the only one in the Middle East - during the recent SPIA Awards, and organises numerous activities, including the Juventus Training Experience in Italy, football tournaments of all levels inside and outside the UAE, visits with Juventus Legends and, last but not least, participation in the official DOFA city football championship, organised by the Dubai Sport Council.
And that's not all: in June 2023, the Under-12 team of the Juventus Academy Dubai was the first from Asia and the Middle East to win the Juventus Academy World Cup, beating a roster of 73 academies from around the world and lifting the cup at the Allianz Stadium.
8 MARCH: ABU DHABI
Abu Dhabi also speaks black and white: the local Juventus Academy plays and entertains over 300 girls and boys in three locations with 15 coaches, thanks to the collaboration between the Club and local partner, JSport LLC.
Giorgio took the opportunity to visit to the city, first taking part in a press conference with members of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for the promotion and development of the Juventus Academy Abu Dhabi in the territory; then, after a visit to the Louvre in Abu Dhabi, he attended a high-profile event at New York University, also attended by the Italian ambassador to the UAE, Lorenzo Fanara, where Giorgio had the chance to meet fans and families, play with the boys on the pitch and as always, share in everyone's enthusiasm.
