Fight to the summit of the Eredivisie took place on Sunday. Ajax, in second and Juventus’ future opponents in the Champions League, overcame league leaders PSV at home.
It was a crucial match for the Amsterdam team, who, before yesterday, was five points off the top. Their victory means they are now within touching distance of the pinnacle with two points separating them and their rivals.
During the outing, the hosts went ahead with a goal from Schwaab in the 31st minute. However, in the second half the match the score was levelled through de Jong’s equaliser. Ajax was able to find their decisive touch; when Tadic scorec in the 72nd minute before Neres closed the game in stoppage time.
On Wednesday, Juve's opponents are expected to take on Emmen away from home, who are second last in the standings.
