First-half strikes from Carlos Tevez and Alvaro Morata allowed the Bianconeri to defeat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in Tuesday evening’s Champions League last 16 first leg at Juventus Stadium.
Prior to yesterday’s game, the hosts were winless in their last four meetings against German sides, having drawn one and lost three of those encounters. The Bianconeri had also not beaten the visitors on home turf since 1993.
Marco Reus cancelled out Tevez’s opener before Morata’s first Champions League goal for the club, and his second overall after finding the net against Schalke 04 for Real Madrid last season, saw Massimiliano Allegri’s men claim an important result ahead of the return leg at the Westfalenstadion.
The Old Lady have now scored 17 times in their previous eight outings with Borussia Dortmund whilst last year’s Bundesliga runners-up are still yet to keep a clean sheet against Juventus.
