Juventus Women made it six league wins in a row on Saturday afternoon, beating Sassuolo Femminile 2-0 on the Ale&Ricky Pitch in Vinovo.
The Bianconeri, who currently sit top of the women’s Serie A table, dictated the game from start to finish, creating chances throughout the 90 minutes and hit the woodwork twice before taking the lead through Martina Rosucci.
Benedetta Glionna had struck the crossbar and Barbara Bonansea hit the post via the gloves of a very busy Sassuolo keeper, Sabrina Tasselli, before midfielder Rosucci hammered home a 27th-minute opener after great work by Bonansea down the left side.
After the break, the Bianconeri were on the front foot again, carving out scoring opportunities aplenty: Glionna shot wide from an acute angle before Bonansea came close to outwitting Tasselli with a bold lob from distance and then a firm left-footed drive, which brought an excellent save out of the Sassuolo stopper.
A second goal was proving increasingly elusive, but Juventus Women didn’t let their heads drops and eventually doubled their advantage when Sanni Franssi crashed in on the rebound after Tasselli had denied Bonansea yet again.
Sara Gama, the captain, came close to adding gloss to the victory late on, but in the end these were three very important points, which keep Rita Guarino’s girls perfect in their debut season.
