Sami Khedira talked up the importance of Saturday's hard-fought win over Chievo – insisting it hands Juve a psychological edge over title rivals Napoli.
The Bianconeri eventually broke down a stubborn Chievo outfit courtesy of goal by the Germany international himself. Gonzalo Higuain then added a second as Juve moved two points above Maurizio Sarri's side awaiting Sunday's matches.
“It was a tough game,” Khedira admitted after the final whistle. “We had more possession after their first red card but even at 11 v 9 we still had to bide our time and wait for the opener to come.
“These three points are huge. We know it's going to be a long, hard battle with Napoli and winning today puts a little pressure on them. This is the sort of game we have to win.”
Juve are now braced for a hectic run of games over the coming weeks.
“We've been able to train well the last couple of weeks. We have a busy spell coming up now and we're going to have to rotate in all areas of the pitch.”
