Sami Khedira couldn’t have picked a better day to score a hat-trick, as he inspired the Bianconeri to a comeback victory in a tricky fixture at Udinese.
The 6-2 win at the Dacia Arena will live long in the memory for the German, especially as he went home with the match ball: “I’m delighted not only for myself – because it’s definitely special to score the first hat-trick of my career – but above all for the team because it was important to respond after Mario [Mandzukic] was sent off,” began Khedira.
Despite being a man light for long periods, Juventus sealed three massive points in the rain in Udine. “Our aim was to win today’s match and we succeeded. This victory will give us a lift ahead of our upcoming games. We want to keep producing performances like this all season. Juve are in the shake-up. We know there’s a long way to go but we’re focused on the end goal,” concluded the midfielder.
