Cristiano Ronaldo hit the 29th hat-trick of his Real Madrid career as Los Blancos overcame Sevilla 3-2 at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Saturday evening.

The Portuguese international initially got the ball rolling with two goals in as many first-half minutes, first heading in Isco’s cross before firing in just 60 seconds later.

But the hosts, who had not lost at home all season prior to tonight’s encounter, pulled one back just ahead of the break, Carlos Bacca converting a spot-kick to make it 2-1.

Real Madrid, however, soon regained their two-goal cushion when Ronaldo bagged his third on 70 minutes, nodding in the returning Gareth Bale’s centre.

Sevilla threatened a late flurry after Vicente Iborra turned home with ten minutes remaining, but Carlo Ancelotti’s men hung on for a priceless victory which saw them close the gap on La Liga leaders Barcelona to only two points.

Up next? Newly-crowned Serie A champions Juventus.
