Carlos Tevez says the Bianconeri’s upcoming double header with Real Madrid is an evenly poised affair and believes the group spirit at Juventus could be the secret to making what is already a great season even better.

Many observers are tipping Carlo Ancelotti’s reigning European champions to have the edge over a Juventus side who find themselves in the semi-finals for the first time in 12 years, but the Argentine striker begs to differ.

Speaking to the media in Turin, the 31-year-old said: “I think it’s a difficult semi-final, but an open one. Both legs will be hard fought affairs and I don’t think there’s a favourite. The team who makes the least mistakes will emerge victorious.

“Our secret is the group itself. All of us respect the club’s history and shirt and this has led us to win the championship, get to the Coppa Italia final and reach the Champions League semi-finals.

“I have the trust of the management, the boss and my team-mates. This makes me feel important and when a player feels like this, he gives everything he’s got. This makes me perform at 100 per cent.”

This season’s top scorer is expected to be partnered in attack by Alvaro Morata, and remains confident the young Spaniard will be up to the task should he get the nod.

“He’s come on leaps and bounds over the past few months, grown in confidence and I think he’ll be ready for this game. He’s a great player and I’m sure he won’t feel the pressure.”
