An hour after Juventus took the field, Milan also went through their pre-match preparations on the eve of the Italian Super Cup final. The Rossoneri trained on Al Ittihad's pitch, before coach Gattuso and captain Romagnoli took questions at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium.
"We will play against a team that's been dominant for eight years - underlines Rossoneri coach, Gattuso - but such challenges can do us good. What I don't want to see from my boys is that they are discouraged at the first sign of difficulty. It might be tough, but we will have to be able to react. I want to see the same spirit of the team that went to Turin eight months ago or the one that started strongly in the Coppa Italia final. We have to play our game, without overthinking, knowing that the strongest team doesn't always win in football. I see that the guys are calm and we will have to give it our all to beat Juve."
"We must have the desire to impose ourselves and remain focused and determined - Alessio Romagnoli added - As soon as you give up for a moment, Juventus punishes you and we must not leave anything to chance. We know that Juve is the strongest team in Italy and among the strongest in Europe, we have great respect for them, but we also know our own qualities and we know that what we have to do tomorrow is make it difficult for them. It's a one-off match so anything can happen. We have the opportunity to have our own say and we want to do our best to bring home a trophy, which for us could represent the turning point of the season."
